A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is a document that provides proof of your insurance coverage to a third party — such as a lender, landlord, general contractor, client, or government agency. It summarizes your policy information including coverage types, limits, and effective dates.
When You Might Need a Certificate
- Your lender requires proof of homeowners or business property insurance.
- A general contractor requires you to show general liability coverage before working on a job site.
- A landlord requires tenants or vendors to provide proof of insurance.
- A client or government contract requires evidence of your business coverage.
- A leasing company requires proof of commercial auto or equipment coverage.
How to Request Your Certificate
Because certificates often need to name a specific certificate holder and may require an additional insured endorsement, they are processed through our office — not directly through the carrier portal. Fill out the form below or call us at (423) 636-3743 with the following information:
- Your name and policy number (if known)
- The name and address of the certificate holder
- Whether they need to be listed as an additional insured
- The date the certificate is needed
- Any specific language or requirements from the requesting party
Turnaround Time
We process most certificate requests within one business day. If you have an urgent need, call us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.
No coverage changes are effective until confirmed in writing by your carrier. A certificate of insurance is evidence of existing coverage and does not modify your policy terms.
